As we enter the international break, there is a brief reprieve to breathe and look back at the season so far. In this, I will be discussing the top five Chelsea players based on their goal contributions per 90 minutes. It can easily be lost that the Blues are having one of the best campaigns of anyone when it comes to putting the ball in the net and it is led by a potentially surprising name.<\/p>\n

Top 5 Chelsea Players By Goal Contributions Per 90<\/h2>\n

5. Andrey Santos<\/h3>\n

The Brazilian star is fresh off a run in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg and has found himself battling for minutes in the Premier League team. Despite that he is currently one of the most effective players in the squad, having more contributions per 90 than Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto, and others.<\/p>\n

He has played less tha some of his peers but his assist totals have helped to drag him up to fifth place as he currently has 0.51 assists per 90, the highest in the entire squad.<\/p>\n

4. Alejandro Garnacho<\/h3>\n

Arriving in a somewhat controversial move from Manchester United the Argentine was quick to garner criticism for not immediately producing. He has quickly silenced many of the doubters, though. An exact split of 0.34 goals and assists per 90 gives him the fourth best output in the squad, aided by his recent strong run against Wolves and Qarabag.<\/p>\n

3. Estevao<\/h3>\n

Another tricky Brazilian finds their way onto the list. Estevao came in with a lot of hype from Palmeiras after an astounding stretch with the team that even saw him lead them through the Club World Cup. He has been bedded in slowly to English football but appears to be an absolute star in the making so far.<\/p>\n

He has an impressive 0.54 goals per 90 rate currently and grabbed a great assist at the weekend for Joao Pedro. He is doing some great things despite having some shorter cameos, if he can get a run in the first team proper then his numbers could certainly increase.<\/p>\n

2. Cole Palmer<\/h3>\n

Starboy Cole Palmer has not featured much this season due to a groin injury, likely not helped by the short turnaround from the Club World Cup final to the season starting. Despite that, he was well on his way to another dominant season for the Blues as he was scoring goals with ease despite not picking up a single assist.<\/p>\n

He is the only player in this top five of Chelsea players to have a 0 on either the goal or assist tally. With a total of 0.77 strikes per 90, it is clear that when he comes back, he will be a clinical operator for a well-oiled attack. Despite a pretty high 0.77 total to beat, he isn’t top of our list, that designation goes to a rather surprising Cobhamk graduate,<\/p>\n
