Oxford United<\/a> midfielder Tyler Goodrham is set to be made available for loan in January, according to Pete O’Rourke<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old hasn’t played for the U’s since a 2-2 draw against Coventry in August and appears to be out of favour under head coach, Gary Rowett.<\/p>\n

Problems This Season<\/h3>\n

Academy graduate Tyler Goodrham has managed just five appearances so far this season. The 22-year-old played in the four opening league games of the campaign and completed 90 minutes in a Carabao Cup victory over Colchester., where he scored the only goal of the game.<\/p>\n

However, a combination of becoming a father, poor form and injury setbacks has limited his minutes on the pitch, along with the number of players Rowett has in the attacking areas.<\/p>\n

What Next for Goodrham?<\/h3>\n

Arguably one of Oxford’s most prized assets, the 22-year-old has been linked with moves to several clubs in recent transfer windows. However, a loan move away could go one of two ways.<\/p>\n

Firstly, it could revive his career. Goodrham could drop down to League One, find form and return to the club before re-establishing himself with the U’s. Oxford could even loan him out to another Championship club, possibly Southampton, who have been linked with him in the past, and impress there with a potential obligation to buy.<\/p>\n

However, it could go the other way in the sense of him dropping down a division, struggling for form and game time before eventually fading out to become a Football League player rather than a potential future Premier League regular.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, if he does move on, then it will be the former. A move away could help the youngster rediscover his form which will help the U’s in the long term.<\/p>\n
