Oxford United<\/a> will be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat at Wrexham when the U’s travel to strugglers, Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n

As for Wednesday, they are without a win in five following a spirited 1-0 defeat at home against high-flying Middlesbrough on Wednesday night. The Owls sit at the bottom of the Championship with just one win all season, but have picked up credible points against Birmingham, QPR and Wrexham.<\/p>\n

It’s no secret that Sheffield Wednesday are struggling massively off the pitch with ongoing ownership issues resulting in boycotting of games for a large selection of the fanbase. There have been unpaid wages, several transfer embargoes and the possibility of a points deduction coming the way of the former Premier League outfit.<\/p>\n

Oxford are still without Matty Phillips for this game but both Ciaron Brown and Filip Krastev featured in the game at Wrexham. Ole Romeny is also match fit but hasn’t been part of the previous two squads.<\/p>\n

The Owls have several players missing. Di’Shon Bernard, Nathaniel Chalobah, Pierce Charles, Guilherme Siqueira, Olaf Kobacki, Rio Shipston and Ernie Weaver are all on the sidelines, but goalkeeper Ethan Horvath is available after serving a one-match suspension.<\/p>\n

Not only do Wednesday have several players missing but they also ship several goals and have conceded the most of any team in the division with 23 from 11 games. They’re also light up top with just nine goals scored.<\/p>\n

The U’s won this fixture last season thanks to a late goal from hometown hero, Sam Long. However, Wednesday’s win at Grenoble Road earlier in the season was the final game in charge for Des Buckingham. That loss was the only one in the previous six meetings between the two sides, while Oxford have lost just once on their last seven visits to Hillsborough.<\/p>\n
