Oxford United<\/a> have made their fourth loan signing of the summer with the arrival of Rangers defender Ben Davies.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old follows Luke Harris, Nik Prelec and Will Lankshear through the door on loan.<\/p>\n

Ben Davies Joins Oxford United on Loan<\/h2>\n

Career So Far<\/h3>\n

The central defender made a name for himself at Preston where he turned out 145 times over eight years.<\/p>\n

During his tenure at Deepdale, the defender also spent time on loan at several clubs, including York, Newport and Fleetwood.<\/p>\n

But his impressive displays in Lancashire earned him a move to the Premier League when he joined Liverpool in 2021.<\/p>\n

However, he failed to make a single appearance while at Anfield, but did spend time on loan at Sheffield United.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Davies made a permanent switch to Rangers, signing a four-year deal. However, he appears out of favour at Ibrox, having spent last season on loan at League One winners Birmingham before joining the U’s for this campaign.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking after signing for Oxford United, Davies said:<\/a> \u201cI\u2019m delighted to be here. As soon as I heard of the interest I was sold. I spoke to the Head Coach, and I got the feel that this is a Football Club which can take a step forward this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt this is a great chance for me to play Championship football. I\u2019m really grateful for the opportunity the club have given me, and I will do everything to have a strong season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve played a lot of football, and I hope I can bring those experiences to the team. I\u2019m really looking forward to getting started and helping the club achieve its ambitions.\u201d<\/p>\n
