Liverpool played with a 4-2-3-1 formation in their Community Shield loss to Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n

Alisson Becker started in goal, with brand new full-backs Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong making their professional debuts. Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk continued their strong centre-back partnership from last year.<\/p>\n

Conor Bradley is recovering from an injury which saw him miss Liverpool’s pre-season friendlies with Athletic Club as well as their Community Shield fixture at Wembley Stadium. Slot did not give an update on his timeline.<\/p>\n

Joe Gomez returned to training this week after recovering from an issue with his Achilles that he picked up in pre-season. Slot said: “I have to make a decision on that…if you looked at our bench against Palace, I think there were three players that were 20 years old or younger…there is a possibility that Joe might be on the bench\u201d.<\/p>\n
