David Ornstein has revealed <\/a>that Liverpool have “rejected immediately” a huge bid for Luis Diaz<\/a> from Bayern Munich. The “star”<\/a> forward reportedly has “made clear” to the Reds that he wants to leave, but they remain firm in their stance. A departure would hurt their depth, especially with Darwin Nunez potentially leaving.<\/p>\n

Ornstein, of The Athletic, reports that Bayern Munich have submitted an official bid of around \u00a360 million for Diaz, after he emerged as their top target. This proposal was worth \u20ac67.5 million (or \u00a358.6 million), though the Reds rejected it immediately. A move for Nunez (and Federico Chiesa) is expected<\/a> to progress soon, with Napoli and Al Hilal interested in the Uruguayan. This would leave the frontline with just Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah as options.<\/p>\n

Liverpool value their man at over \u00a385 million, though they are not interested in a sale. This valuation is reportedly for “accounting purposes rather than a sales position”, and they have informed suitors (mainly Bayern Munich and Barcelona, amongst others) that they have no plans to sell. The club view the Colombian as an “important part of their plans for next season and beyond”.<\/p>\n

However, Diaz has “made clear to the club he wants to leave”. His contract will expire in the summer of 2027, with an extension not looking likely despite<\/a> Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards’ best efforts. The 28-year-old evidently wants to leave now, whilst the club would rather utilise his talents and lose him on a free in two years.
