Oxford United<\/a> have made their second signing of the summer with the arrival of Northern Ireland defender, Brodie Spencer.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old has joined the U’s from Huddersfield for an undisclosed fee.<\/p>\n

Oxford United Sign Brodie Spencer<\/h2>\n

Highly-Rated Defender Joins the U’s<\/h3>\n

Spencer, who had one year left on his previous deal with Huddersfield, is regarded as a highly-rated defender.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old has been capped 17 times for Northern Ireland, where he has played with Oxford defender, Ciaron Brown.<\/p>\n

The youngster joined Huddersfield from Cliftonville in 2020 and has turned out 62 times since making his debut in 2022.<\/p>\n

With just short of 100 senior appearances to his name across the Championship, League One and Scottish Premiership with Motherwell, the defender brings some experience despite his young age.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the club after putting pen to paper, the defender is delighted to have signed and to be back in the Championship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He said:<\/a> \u201cI\u2019m really excited to be joining Oxford United. I\u2019ve seen the club progress over the last few years and from the outside I only see positive things.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhen the interest came in, it was a deal that I wanted to happen because of everything I had seen and heard. Once I had a number of conversations with people inside the club, my decision was made.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had a taste of the Championship and it\u2019s the place I want to be to showcase my level as a player. There was a lot of interest from clubs in the division, but I\u2019m confident this is the right place for me now and in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t wait to get started with the boys when they get back from Indonesia and show the fans what I can do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Head Coach, Gary Rowett, said: \u201cBrodie is a very exciting signing for the club. We are getting an experienced player at a good age, and one that we know can perform at this level.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
