The Catalan-born coach now becomes the club’s fourth manager in the past two years. Enzo Maresca, Steve Cooper and Van Nistelrooy all experienced highs and lows in the job and often lacked backing from the board.<\/p>\n

Whether these issues will remain is yet to be seen, but his success under similar circumstances at Loftus Road suggests he’s ready for the test.<\/p>\n

How Does This Affect Leicester City<\/h3>\n

Despite the time it has taken to install Cifuentes, it seems like a positive move for the club. The 43-year-old has European experience, having managed Hammarby, Sandjeford and others. Even during his time in the second tier, he managed to keep QPR up despite restrictions behind the scenes, and for spells looked to be pushing on.<\/p>\n

There is a major influence of Ajax and Cruyffian tactics on the Spanish manager, and he will likely bring these ideas to the East Midlands. Therefore, young players are likely to get a chance to flourish under him, which will be key after the first pre-season game against Peterborough United.<\/p>\n
