Ter Stegen Clarifies Future After Exit Rumours<\/h3>\n

Ter Stegen<\/a> was sidelined for most of the year because of a serious injury, involving the <\/span>\u201ccomplete rupture in the patella tendon.\u201d<\/span><\/a> Wojciech Szczesny came out of retirement to deputise for the injured German international and became the club’s number one. Ter Stegen’s return came in a 2-1 away win against Real Valladolid.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 33-year-old returned to training at the end of March, with the hope of reclaiming his number-one jersey. <\/span>Hansi Flick<\/span><\/a>, the Barcelona<\/a> manager said at the time of Stegen’s return: \u201cMarc is on the right track, training fantastically, he\u2019s at a good level and I don\u2019t plan to change anything,\u201d Flick said. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMarc will play against Valladolid and I don\u2019t know if I\u2019ll make any more changes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone <\/span>who is<\/span> fit will travel to Valladolid. We need all the positive energy we can get. I\u2019ve seen that in training.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Goalkeeper Attracts Interest<\/h3>\n

The German international has reportedly attracted interest from <\/span>Al-Hilal<\/span><\/a>, but <\/span>Fabrizio<\/span> Romano<\/span><\/a> and other media outlets report that Ter Stegen has clarified that he will not be leaving Barcelona: \u201cI know I will be at Barcelona next year,\u201d said the 33-year-old.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>Mundo Deportivo<\/span><\/a>, manager Hansi Flick has already decided on the future of Ter Stegen. If Joan Garcia signs from Espanyol, the veteran goalkeeper may have to leave in search of regular football.
