Another decent week for Oxford United<\/a> as they ended the campaign in style with a six goal thriller and the end of season awards.<\/p>\n

Brown Bags a Brace at Awards Evening<\/h3>\n

It was another end of season awards to remember for Ciaron Brown as he scooped the Player’s Player and Supporter’s Player of the Season.<\/p>\n

The U’s defender, who has missed the last few games through injury, also achieved the feat at the end of the 2022\/23 campaign.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old has been sensational this season, both at centre back and left back, turning out 42 times. The Northern Ireland international has also added four goals and three assists.<\/p>\n

‘I’ve Got No Doubt That Browny Will Be Our Player Next Season’<\/h3>\n

Following his double scoop at the end of season awards, some reports claimed other Championship clubs are interest in signing Ciaron Brown.<\/p>\n

However, head coach Gary Rowett dismissed the rumours, saying<\/a>: \u201cI think he\u2019s been hugely important. When you first come into the building, I\u2019d seen him play a number of times.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe looked to me like one of those players that was in-between a left back and a left centre back.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got to say, having watched him, I think he\u2019s been an outstanding centre back who can play left back. That\u2019s where I would see him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he\u2019s been very consistent. He\u2019s defended the box incredibly well. At the end of games, he\u2019s showed his bravery, and shown his quality as well and a level of athleticism.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he\u2019s one that certainly this season, he more than deserves to perform in the Championship.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a bit of PR out there from people saying that other clubs are looking at him, but I\u2019ve got no doubt that Browny will be our player next season, and deservedly so.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sensational Stalemate at Swansea for Oxford United<\/h3>\n

Oxford ended the season with an entertaining 3-3 draw on the road at Swansea.<\/p>\n

The hosts took the lead three times in West Wales but goals from Greg Leigh, Michal Helik and Przemyslaw Placheta ensured a point.<\/p>\n
