The Athletic’s Andy Naylor has <\/span>reported<\/span><\/a> that there <\/span>are<\/span> no active discussions to extend the Japanese winger’s deal, which runs out in 2027. With the <\/span>possibility<\/span> of European football <\/span>returning<\/span> to Brighton next season looking bleak, this increases the likeliness of Mitoma leaving the club in the summer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Seagulls already had to fend off the threat of a January exit, with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr having two large bids rejected. Brighton\u00a0turned\u00a0away\u00a0the\u00a0first\u00a0bid\u00a0of\u00a0\u00a354\u00a0million.\u00a0They\u00a0also\u00a0rejected\u00a0the second\u00a0offer\u00a0of\u00a0\u00a375\u00a0million. <\/span>Adding to that<\/span>, Mitoma rejected the chance to move abroad, something that he may reconsider in the next transfer window.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also has <\/span>huge<\/span> admirers in England. Despite Mohamed Salah <\/span>having signed<\/span> a new deal, Liverpool looks to be in the market for a new winger. TEAMtalk have <\/span>reported<\/span><\/a> that Liverpool are big admirers of Brighton’s star <\/span>winger,<\/span> and have held a long-term interest in him. Chelsea and\u00a0 Manchester\u00a0United\u00a0have also shown\u00a0interest\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0past. Brighton will not be willing to let him go unless teams can meet their \u00a380 million valuation.<\/span><\/p>\n

As proved in the winter, Brighton <\/span>do<\/span> not want to sell their star winger. His seven goals and three assists in the Premier League this season have helped his team push for European football. His impact <\/span>is also noticed<\/span> when he is not involved.
