Tottenham Hotspur have struggled with injuries all season and now there is a new name on the injury list. Kevin Danso is the 20th player to to suffer an injury this season, again raising questions about how Spurs manage the load of their players.<\/p>\n

Ange Postecoglou Reveals Kevin Danso Injury Extent<\/h2>\n

Spurs Defence Hit By New Injury<\/h3>\n

Having only joined the club in the winter transfer window in a deal worth<\/a> \u00a321 million, Danso picked up a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw vs Bournemouth and won’t be available for the AZ Alkmaar clash.<\/p>\n

Ange Postecoglou said: “Kevin got a hamstring injury in the last game so he’s out. Ben is back in. So that’s the only change from the weekend. Everyone else got through the game.”<\/p>\n

Impact and Extent of Danso Injury<\/h3>\n

Described<\/a> as a ‘super addition’ to the Spurs squad by Ange Postecoglou, there is no doubt that Danso’s absence will impact the Lilywhites having played almost every minute since his arrival.<\/p>\n

While Danso managed to complete 90 minutes against Bournemouth, his hamstring injury means he will miss the next match. Beyond that, it is unclear how long Danso will be out for.<\/p>\n

Postecoglou said<\/a>: \u201cHard to say. He felt it right at the end of the game, so we’ll see.<\/p>\n

In his absence, Postecoglou has already said that Ben Davies will be available to fill the void. The 31-year-old has played a key part in the squad this year, with lengthy injuries to first choice defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. Even Davies has been missing for the past few matches with his own injury.<\/p>\n

Radu Dragusin is still recovering after undergoing ACL surgery and is expected to be fit in time for next season.<\/p>\n

The frequency of injuries in the Tottenham backline really hasn’t helped defensive stability; Spurs have shipped 41 goals in the Premier League this season across 28 matches.<\/p>\n

But, the latest injury to Danso has been tempered by a number of fellow defenders returning for selection. Davies, Romero and van de Ven are all now back in first team training. Romero and Van de Ven are Tottenham’s most solid centre-back pairing and haven’t started together since December 2024.<\/p>\n

Commenting on Van de Ven and Romero’s performances last time out, Postecoglou said: \u201cThey got through the game well. Romero no issues and great to get Micky back out there and he felt good, so both available.\u201d<\/p>\n
