Celtic lost their second domestic game of the season at the weekend, with a half time double from Hibernian’s Josh Campbell proving too much to recover. Daizen Maeda snatched one back and thought he had equalised, before his second goal was disallowed from VAR in controversial fashion, with Brendan Rodgers claiming officials “guessed”<\/a> if the ball was out of play. Nevertheless, Rangers would lose 2-0 at home to ST Mirren later that day, meaning that even in defeat, the Champions still improved their position at the top (by goal difference). How Celtic have Lined Up Recently<\/h3>\n

Greg Taylor was the only change in the backline which competed excellently in Munich. Many blamed him for Campbell’s opener, which seems a tad harsh considering it was Callum McGregor who lost his man, either way, the Scottish fullback was swapped at half time for Jeffrey Schlupp.<\/p>\n

In midfield, Reo Hatate was finally rested with Luke McCowan stepping in. Similar to Taylor, he was also whipped off at half time. Again, one could argue the harshness of this decision, as the former Dundee man was the most creative of all three midfielders. Having said that, when Hatate came on there was a visible rise in quality.<\/p>\n

Up front, Nicolas Kuhn, Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda started. However, the Irishman was swapped for Jota at the break. Idah is truly proving to be somewhat of an enigma for the Bhoys. His lack of consistency is not only baffling, but the discrepancy in his level can be so vast. Celtic looked a much better side with Maeda through the middle.<\/p>\n

Celtic Recent Form and Tactics<\/h3>\n

Tuesday night certainly had an impact on the visitors’ performance. Not to take away from David Gray’s side. Unbeaten in thirteen, they are the in-form team in Scotland.<\/p>\n

Yet, Celtic looked leggy and lacked their trademark intensity. The midfield really disappointed, lacking dynamism and forward passing. Clearly, Hibs had a solid structure that was tough to break down, but Celtic could have tested it more.<\/p>\n

This Tuesday however, is a different game altogether. In a spacious park in front of 60,000 and with a point to prove, expect an improved performance from the league leaders.<\/p>\n

There are no new injuries report. Paulo Bernardo remains on the sidelines, while a James Forrest return approaches.<\/p>\n
