The Gunners head to Wolves desperately looking for another three points as they try to close the gap that is emerging at the top of the table. Here is our Arsenal predicted lineup for this encounter.

Arsenal Predicted Lineup vs Wolves: Two Stars to Undergo Fitness Tests

How Arsenal Have Lined-up Recently

There was a bit of rotation as the Gunners shot three past Dinamo Zagreb in midweek.

While David Raya started in goal as usual, his defence formed a new combination for the season with Jakub Kiwior coming in at centre-back and Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back, both of which have only had a handful of starts this campaign. There were the familiar faces of Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magalhaes in defence, though.

Two of the three central midfielders were on the scoresheet last time out, including Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard who have all been regular starters as of late. Jorginho made another start.

The injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka have allowed Raheem Sterling to come back in from the cold. He started against Dinamo, before being replaced by Ethan Nwaneri who made his first appearance after returning from injury. This means Arteta does now have a few more options to select in attack, including the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz who have all featured heavily in recent fixtures.

Read More: The Greatest: The Managers, Players and Matches That Made Arsenal. No. 5 – The 1970 Fairs Cup

Arsenal Recent Form and Tactics

Arteta already envisages a tough match against Wolves due to the way they set up, describing them as a “difficult side to beat” and one that adapts to the demands of each opponent.

He said: “They [Wolves] have done it differently regardless of the opposition, and regardless of results, it tells us a lot about their intentions, we’ll have to understand very quickly what sort of game they want to propose and what is good for us.”

The Arsenal boss has been constantly quizzed by journalists about getting a new striker in this transfer window and admitted in his last press conference that his side lacks firepower and needs more goals.

Drawing their last game, the Reds were perhaps unfortunate that their would-be-winner was ruled out for handball. Otherwise, Arsenal’s Premier League form is only bettered by Nottingham Forest, with four wins and two draws in their last six matches.

Arsenal Injuries and Absentees to Consider

There were rumours that some of Arsenal’s longer-term injured stars were close to making a return. But one key star has been ruled out yet again.

Ben White is still not available despite journalist Sami Mokbel claiming the player has returned to training on the grass. According to Arteta, “He hasn’t trained with the team yet but he’s very close to doing that. He needs to tick a few boxes and then I think he will be with us pretty soon.”

But there are some more promising updates on Myles Lewis-Skelly and William Saliba.

Arteta said: “With Myles [Lewis-Skelly] there’s nothing serious on the scan so it will be a matter of today having a meeting with the medical staff and a training session and whether it’s too early or not. With Willy [Saliba] it’s the same. I think they’ll definitely be in for next week but this week, let’s see how it goes.”

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain sidelined.

Read More: Returning Players: Sol Campbell

Arsenal Predicted Lineup Vs Wolves

GK: David Raya

DEF: Jurrien Timber

DEF: William Saliba

DEF: Gabriel Magalhaes

DEF: Riccardo Calafiori

MID: Martin Odegaard

MID: Declan Rice

MID: Mikel Merino

FW: Gabriel Martinelli

FW: Kai Havertz

FW: Ethan Nwaneri

Every match counts for Arsenal as they continue to keep the pressure on Liverpool in the race for the Premier League.
