The results have seen the U’s move six points clear of the bottom three.

And that’s where the Hatters currently find themselves. Despite a goalless draw against Preston in Matt Bloomfield’s first game since replacing Rob Edwards, Luton sit one place off the foot of the table and could be set for back-to-back relegations should this form continue.

Prior to Edwards’ dismissal, the Hatters managed just two wins from their last ten and suffered seven defeats during that run.

Tyler Goodrham serves the last of his three-game ban so he remains out, along with injured players in Sam Long and Elliott Moore.

Reece Burke and former U’s midfielder Shandon Baptiste are both out while Teden Mengi and Alfie Doughty are a doubt for the game.

Luton have the second-worst away record in the league, having picked up just one win and one draw from their 13 Championship fixtures this season.

Oxford came from two goals down to pick up a point in the reverse fixture earlier this season. However, the U’s are without a win against Luton in their last 17 Football League meetings, and the Hatters have nine wins from 11 from their visits to Oxfordshire. The two sides did meet in the Conference League, with Luton winning at Kenilworth Road but the U’s were victorious on home soil thanks to a wonder-strike from Jamie Cook in a 2-0 win.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Greg Leigh, Ciaron Brown, Michal Helik, Peter Kioso, Will Vaulks, Cameron Brannagan, Siriki Dembele, Ruben Rodrigues, Przemyslaw Placheta, Tom Bradshaw.

Prediction: Oxford United 2-0 Luton Town

Oxford United will be looking to continue their impressive recent form when the U’s welcome Luton at Grenoble Road.
