Rob Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen have shared the duties in goal. Injuries and a lack of European games has limited rotation elsewhere with Malo Gusto, Marc Cucurella, Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, and Josh Acheampong starting in defence.<\/p>\n

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez have started almost every time out as the deeper midfielders. Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, and Noni Madueke have started in attacking midfield spots. Nicolas Jackson has been the starting striker with Cristopher Nkunku replacing him against Ipswich.<\/p>\n

Maresca has remained true to his fluid 4-2-3-1 setup that turns into something like a 3-2-4-1, although for a match against lower-level opposition we may see him change gears to a 4-1-4-1 base with a 3-1-5 or 2-1-6 setup for this one depending on the full-backs. Whatever the case, controlling possession will be the name of the game.<\/p>\n

After rising to second in the table the Blues have spiralled a bit with only one win from their last five, with two defeats and two draws coming against teams that they should have done better against. Their goalscoring touch has dried up which coinciding with their campaign long defensive issues has caused a downturn in form.<\/p>\n

Chelsea Injuries to Consider<\/h3>\n

Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile remain sidelined for the foreseeable future with Mykhailo Mudryk suspended. Maresca’s press conference indicated that Romeo Lavia and Reece James<\/a> could feature while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is injured, Ben Chilwell is subject to outside interest as is Cesare Casadei. The manager has said that the latter two won’t feature so they can be fully ready to join another club.<\/p>\n
