The Liverpool game saw the Foxes take an early lead through a Jordan Ayew opener <\/span>but the relentless pressure from Liverpool<\/span> led to them finding three goals and comfortably taking all three points.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Mads Hermansen injured, it was Jakub Stolarczyk who filled in and made a good impression in his Premier League debut after a lengthy injury. The centre-back partnership of Jannik Vestergaard and Conor Coady has been a mainstay under their new manager, with Caleb Okoli and Wout Faes being reduced to just substitute appearances. James Justin and Victor Kristiansen then rounded up their defence as they have also started every game under the <\/span>Dutchman<\/span><\/p>\n

The double pivot of Harry Winks and Boubakary Soumar\u00e9 was utilised against Liverpool, with the duo offering a balance of physicality and technical agility. <\/span>Oliver Skipp was also present <\/span>in<\/span> the week off the bench, but this was likely <\/span>to be<\/span>because <\/span>of<\/span> Winks recently <\/span>returning<\/span> from injury.<\/span> Providing width were Jordan Ayew and Stephy Mavididi as the pair created the<\/span>\u00a0Foxes’ only goal<\/span><\/a>. Bilal El Khannouss <\/span>then<\/span> started in the centre but was eventually replaced by Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte, who was benched for the third consecutive game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Patson Daka was then chosen to lead the line <\/span>due to<\/span> Jamie Vardy <\/span>being<\/span> sidelined.<\/span> The only other striker was Odsonne Edouard, who was available from the bench.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leicester City\u2019s Recent Form and Tactics<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Liverpool game saw more of the same issues for Leicester. They struggled to contain the relentless pressure from Liverpool and failed to create enough chances. The loss now sees them drop into the relegation zone due to Wolves’ recent revival under their new manager.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite testing out Hamza Choudhury in the inverted role against Wolves, The Dutchman would opt for James Justin to keep his place in the starting eleven. <\/span>This meant<\/span> Justin would often look to play as high as a winger when attacking, but then stay at full-back when defending. Much of the game saw Leicester in their 4-4-2 defensive formation as they looked <\/span>to be<\/span> compact and hard to break down in their low block.<\/span><\/p>\n

This saw relative success in the first half as they played very deep and withstood the home side’s attacks. They even managed to counter, when they won possession as seen by Jordan Ayew’s well-taken goal in the sixth minute. However, this would be short-lived as Liverpool found their equaliser just before the break and then went on to dominate. They found another two goals in the second half to establish their lead, while Leicester didn’t even have a shot.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was more of the same issues with the full-backs struggling one-on-one and making mistakes. The midfield couldn’t take control and the attack lacked ideas. Despite this, it was an encouraging performance after the Wolves game and should provide some confidence as they take on a severely underperforming Manchester City side, who have just one win in their last 13 games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leicester City Injuries to Consider<\/span><\/h3>\n

First-choice goalkeeper Mads Hermansen is among the names set to miss out on the Foxes’ last fixture of the year. Wout Faes is the only defensive option to be recently sidelined and is said to be a ‘doubt’, whilst midfield powerhouse Wilfred Ndidi is still out with a thigh injury. The attacking options have also been reduced recently with Jamie Vardy having a ‘light injury’ but he could be fit for Sunday, unlike Kasey McAteer, who is ruled out.<\/span><\/p>\n
