Both teams are midtable and level on points. A win keeps your focus on a very realistic chance of staying around the qualifying spots for Europe whereas a defeat could mean dropping into the bottom half of the table.

Read More: How Sandro Tonali Fits Into Newcastle’s midfield

Newcastle United Predicted Lineup vs Brentford For December 7

How Newcastle United Lined Up Against Liverpool

How you pick up a point in the Premier League can be a fascinating process! Eddie Howe was gutted and frustrated when his team conceded an injury-time equaliser against Crystal Palace in their last visit to London. But in contrast, the point gained against Liverpool a few days later left the Toon Army completely exhilarated in witnessing their team’s never-say-die attitude when sharing six goals with top-of-the-table Liverpool.

The experience of the returning Dan Burn alongside the unlikely goalscorer Fabian Schar will serve Newcastle well, they have a great recent record against Brentford. Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall will again occupy the full-back roles. A midfield three of Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton against Liverpool saw a good mix of plenty of energy, excellent passing ability and most of all their creativity. All three are capable of the unexpected. The constant movement of Alexander Isak as their focal point in attack is so significant for Newcastle and his devastating finish against Liverpool was a classic example of how explosive he can be.

Support from the wide areas is the key to Newcastle scoring more regularly. Against Liverpool, it was Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy on either side. If there is to be a change in the front three, I can see Harvey Barnes replacing Jacob Murphy on the right-hand side.

Newcastle United Injuries and Absentees to Consider

Eddie Howe did not make a change in the game against Liverpool until fifteen minutes before the end, suggesting he was happy with his team’s performance, but managers will always guard against a heavy workload for any individual. Alexander Isak was a fitness doubt before the Liverpool game, but he showed his quality with a goal of the season contender meaning that Callum Wilson has to be even more patient for his chance to impress. Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles and Emil Krafth won’t be considered.

Sean Longstaff, Calum Wilson and Joe Willock all came on for the last few minutes so there’s a possibility all three will get more game time. Eddie Howe will be more proactive when changing his side against Brentford, he’ll need more energy in his team for the last thirty minutes or so.

Read More: Andy Walker Interview Part One

Newcastle United’s Recent Form and Tactics

Were Newcastle to lose this game, it wouldn’t look good to see the team possibly occupying a spot in the bottom half of the table. The ambition on Tyneside is to get back on the European stage and they will be wary of Brentford’s home form. Remarkably, the Bees have scored at least three times in each of their last four games at the Gtech Community Stadium, although they have still to keep a clean sheet. The Magpies have scored in eight of their last nine away games in the Premier League. Expect goals from both sides.

Newcastle United Predicted Lineup vs Brentford

GK Nick Pope

RB Tino Livramento

LB Lewis Hall

RCB Fabian Schar

LCB Dan Burn

RM Sandro Tonali

CM Bruno Guimaraes

LM Joelinton

RAM Anthony Gordon

STR Alexander Isak

LAM Harvey Barnes

Read More: Andy Walker Interview Part Two

Here is our Newcastle United predicted lineup for the clash against Tomas Frank’s Brentford who have taken an impressive nineteen points from a possible twenty-two at home so far this season.
