Arsenal are determined to get closer to the top of the Premier League table when they face off against Newcastle United in the early kick-off fixture on Saturday (November 2). But ahead of that game, Mikel Arteta gave an interesting update on the contract of Thomas Partey.<\/p>\n
The Ghana midfielder has been a key player for the Gunners this season, but his current contract is set to expire at the end of June 2025. As a result, he can start discussions with other clubs over a possible pre-contract agreement in January if unable to agree a new deal with the Premier League giants before that.<\/p>\n

He stated<\/a>: “The one thing that we needed was Thomas to be at the level we wanted certainly. He\u2019s working so hard to do what he\u2019s doing at the moment, and I think he\u2019s playing really well in different positions with different demands and he\u2019s coping with it in a great way. He\u2019s a big player for us. He\u2019s only 31 and he\u2019s in a really good place and yeah, we\u2019ll have discussions [over his contract].”<\/p>\n After being able to stay clear of injuries in the 2024\/25 season, the 31-year-old midfielder has become a regular for Arteta’s side in the first few months of the campaign.
