Oxford United<\/a> saw six of their players head off on international duty over the past week.<\/p>\n

There was a mixed bag of minutes and results for the players but we have a full round-up right here.<\/p>\n

International Duty for Six Oxford United Players<\/h2>\n

First Fixtures<\/h3>\n

On Thursday, Ciaron Brown picked up his 20th cap for Northern Ireland during a 2-0 win over Luxembourg. The defender played the full 90 minutes in the Nations League clash at Windsor Park.<\/p>\n

There was another U’s player in action with summer signing Marcelino Ferdinan playing the final half an hour as Indonesia began their 2026 World Cup third round qualifying campaign with a 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabia. The 19-year-old is yet to make an appearance for Oxford but has turned out over 25 times for his country.<\/p>\n

Onto Friday and Mark Harris was an unused substitute during Wales’ goalless draw against Turkey in their Nations League clash. The U’s striker, who has netted four goals in four games this season, failed to make it onto the pitch in Craig Bellamy’s first game in charge.<\/p>\n

Another unused substitute was Greg Leigh. The defender missed out in Jamaica’s Concacaf Nations League goalless draw against Cuba.<\/p>\n

Two players that did feature were loanees Ben Nelson and Dane Scarlett. The duo played the full 90 minutes as England’s Elite League squad drew 1-1 against Turkey.\u00a0 Nelson, a deadline day signing, is yet to feature for the U’s, while Scarlett, who is on loan from Tottenham, has found minutes hard to come by due to the fine form of Harris.<\/p>\n

Second Fixtures<\/h3>\n

Onto Sunday and Brown played another full 90 as Northern Ireland lost 1-0 in Bulgaria. The defender played the left side of a back three at the Hristo Botev Stadium.<\/p>\n

The new week began with Wales and Mark Harris made his return to the international stage against Montenegro. However, the U’s striker came on with just ten minutes remaining with Wales winning 2-1.<\/p>\n

After getting 30 minutes against Saudi Arabia, Ferdinan started Indonesia’s goalless draw against Australia. The winger was substituted with just ten minutes remaining in their World Cup qualifier.<\/p>\n

Dane Scarlett then captained and scored the opener in England U20s Elite League fixture against Romania. The loanee netted in the first half during the young Lions’ 2-0 win in Stockport.<\/p>\n

The final game came in the early hours of Wednesday morning as Greg Leigh played 90 minutes in Jamaica’s CONCACAF Nations League win over Honduras.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
