It was being reported<\/a> that the Danish midfielder was attracting interest from his ex-club Ajax over a surprise transfer towards the end of the summer transfer window, with the Dutch transfer deadline day falling on September 2. But it’s now been confirmed by Eriksen’s agent that he will not change clubs at this point.<\/p>\n

The Danish midfielder’s representative has confirmed that he isn’t looking to rejoin the Dutch heavyweights right now and told VL<\/a>: “The deal is not happening. We can put an end to those speculations.” This is despite Eriksen’s uneventful start to the 2024\/25 campaign with the Red Devils which saw his chances of starting games hindered even further with the arrival of Ugarte. The 32-year-old midfielder has one year remaining on his contract with the Red Devils and appears to be intent on fighting his way back into Erik ten Hag’s plans.<\/p>\n

Eriksen’s Future At Old Trafford<\/h3>\n

Eriksen’s contract with Manchester United will expire at the end of June 2025. At this point, it doesn’t appear that he will be getting a new deal after falling well down the pecking order in their midfield line. The 32-year-old, who reportedly<\/a> earns a \u00a3150,000-a-week wage package at Old Trafford, made 28 appearances last season. But that is likely to come down drastically unless he gets a breakthrough through injuries to other starting midfielders. Eriksen seems to have lost his pace and agility in midfield, not making him the right fit for the kind of press-heavy, counter-attack style that ten Hag is trying to build at Old Trafford.
