No Agreement With the Player<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Athletic<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has reported that Nottingham\u00a0Forest’s\u00a0move for Arsenal forward Nketiah has broken down despite the clubs achieving a <\/span>breakthrough in talks<\/span><\/a>\u00a0a few days back.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Arsenal and Forest had a deal worth \u00a330 million <\/span>in place<\/span> – a price tag the Gunners had steadfastly stuck to.\u00a0Nketiah\u00a0couldn’t\u00a0agree on personal terms with Forest and thus will not sign for them. The Englishman was a priority target for the club.<\/span><\/p>\n

Arsenal had initially\u00a0<\/span>rejected<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Forest’s\u00a0opening bid of \u00a325 million, asking the club to pay more if they wanted to secure the services of Nketiah. The Reds eventually decided to yield to the North London\u00a0club’s\u00a0demands.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his pre-season predictions, Sky Sports Pundit Jamie Carragher had tipped Forest to\u00a0<\/span>return to the Championship<\/span><\/a>\u00a0come May. A striker of\u00a0Nketiah’s\u00a0quality would have helped prevent such a scenario. The English international has\u00a0<\/span>43 goals<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and eight assists in 187 senior appearances.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will Nketiah Remain at Arsenal or Move Elsewhere?<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Athletic also adds that the 25-year-old\u00a0is still expected\u00a0to leave Arsenal before the summer transfer window ends. Palace are now said to be contemplating\u00a0<\/span>a move for Nketiah<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

After being linked to multiple clubs like Marseille and Bournemouth, Nketiah\u00a0was\u00a0seemingly close to a Forest move. But now those hopes have been shattered, and instead, a transfer to Crystal Palace might\u00a0materialise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Arsenal’s\u00a0insistence that interested clubs meet their valuation of Nketiah has been playing spoilsport in the transfer for the striker. Most sides are reluctant to pay such a huge sum.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gabriel\u00a0Jesus’\u00a0injury might still offer Nketiah a chance to remain in North London. But the injury is\u00a0<\/span>not <\/span>thought to be<\/span>serious<\/span><\/a>, and the Brazilian might return soon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
