Arsenal might soon add another player to their outgoing transfers list, with Serie A side Bologna willing to take Jakub Kiwior on loan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Italian transfer expert\u00a0<\/span>Gianluca Di Marzio<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has reported that Bologna <\/span>are<\/span> interested in submitting what he describes as a ‘costly’\u00a0loan offer for Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior. The offer includes an option to buy. However, whether the Gunners are willing to accept such a proposal is unclear.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite not being injured, Kiwior\u00a0was<\/span>\u00a0left\u00a0out<\/span><\/a>\u00a0of the Arsenal squad for the season opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers.\u00a0This\u00a0raised questions about the\u00a0Pole’s\u00a0future in North London.<\/span><\/p>\n

Journalist Fabrizio Romano had earlier stated there was a<\/span>\u00a0\u201cserious possibility\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0of Kiwior leaving Arsenal in this window. He added that the defender was open to returning to Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also to\u00a0be noted\u00a0that during the negotiations between Bologna and Arsenal involving Riccardo Calafiori,\u00a0Kiwior’s name did come up. But the player\u00a0<\/span>wasn’t\u00a0keen<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on joining the Italian club despite being offered the chance to play in the Champions League.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from Bologna, Fiorentina were also said to be interested in Kiwior.<\/span><\/p>\n

Is\u00a0Kiwior\u2019s\u00a0Place at Arsenal Under Threat?<\/span><\/h3>\n

The former Bologna defender Calafiori\u00a0was brought in\u00a0to replace Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko. He is an upgrade on the Arsenal players and should soon feature regularly for the Gunners.<\/span><\/p>\n

As things stand, Kiwior\u00a0has no way of getting\u00a0into the starting lineup this season.\u00a0He has Calafiori, Zinchenko, and Jurrien Timber above him in the pecking order. Though he was a\u00a0<\/span>“really consistent”<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in the team last season, he might not get enough playing minutes this time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kiwior can get a regular run of games only if the\u00a0<\/span>above-mentioned players<\/span>\u00a0fall prey to a long-term injury. But he will not be ready to wait for something like that to happen and would want to start games soon.
