According to The Athletic<\/a>, Arsenal have rejected Nottingham Forest’s opening bid of \u00a325 million for Nketiah. The <\/span>Tricky Trees have reportedly made the striker their top target as they continue to hold discussions with the North London club and the player’s camp.<\/p>\n

Crystal Palace are also interested in Nketiah and have held <\/span>talks with Arsenal, though are not currently in talks anymore. They<\/span>\u00a0are behind Forest in the race for the Englishman.<\/span><\/p>\n

Arsenal expect a fee of \u00a330-35 million for Nketiah. They have surprisingly proven to be tough <\/span>negotiators<\/span> as Marseille<\/a> found out recently. The chances of the Gunners reducing their price demands appear <\/span>quite<\/span> slim.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nketiah was the subject of transfer interest from multiple clubs <\/span>recently<\/span>, with Marseille coming the closest to securing his signature. However, the Ligue 1 side <\/span>couldn’t<\/span> meet <\/span>Arsenal’s<\/span> valuation, thus causing the <\/span>deal to collapse<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bournemouth<\/a> held discussions with Arsenal to express their interest in Nketiah. However, talks ended after the Cherries <\/span>opted to sign<\/span> Evanilson<\/span><\/a> from FC Porto for a club record \u00a340 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Are Forest and Palace Interested in Eddie Nketiah?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Forest and Palace both need a striker to improve their attacking output, and Nketiah has always proven<\/span> “<\/span>reliable<\/span>“<\/span><\/a> in that regard.<\/span><\/p>\n

The former currently <\/span>rely<\/span> on the 32-year-old Chris Wood and the injury-ridden Taiwo Awoniyi to solve their attacking woes. Meanwhile, Nketiah is young, experienced, has a good injury record, and might thus be the right choice for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Reds <\/span>were<\/span> also targeting other forwards and<\/span>\u00a0had a bid for <\/span>Feyenoord’s<\/span> Santiago Gimenez rejected. It is unlikely that <\/span>a deal would be struck<\/span> for the Mexican as both clubs are <\/span>far apart in valuation<\/span><\/a>. Hence, the English club have<\/span> shifted their attention completely towards Nketiah.<\/span><\/p>\n
