Tottenham Hotspur have advanced their interest in Bournemouth’s bagsman, Dominic Solanke. It won’t be an easy deal, but there is a sizeable possibility of the striker departing from the South Coast this summer.<\/p>\n

Fabrizio Romano had previously reported that Tottenham were “exploring”<\/a> a move for Solanke. However, Matt Law has now revealed that they are “attempting to make progress” for the move, following his excellent 19-goal Premier League season.<\/p>\n

Spurs have “held talks” already, and have put the “sensational”<\/a> forward “high on [their] list of striker targets”. <\/a>Law continues to explain that Chelsea have also shown interest in their former player, but have been put off by Bournemouth’s high valuation.<\/p>\n

Solanke does have a \u00a365 million release clause available to certain clubs, but it seems as though the North London outfit will try and negotiate a lower price with the Cherries.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old would be the perfect signing for Spurs. He is the Harry Kane replacement that Ange Postecoglou has been crying out for this past year.<\/p>\n

In fact, the former Liverpool player profiles very similarly to Kane. Both players are very well-rounded in their striking ability, able to score with power, placement, their weak foot, headers, chips, flicks, and acrobatics. Importantly, Solanke is very strong in his hold-up and link-up play. This would help Tottenham as he would help create chances for Son Heung-min just as Kane had once done.<\/p>\n

Positionally, bringing in an out-and-out number nine would be beneficial as well. Son has arguably been a bit wasted up front, as he thrives off cutting inside. Bringing Solanke in would allow the South-Korean to move back to the left-wing.
