Liam Manning’s side lost on the road at Wigan before needing a stoppage-time penalty to secure a point against Wycombe.<\/p>\n

Oxford United Weekly Round-Up: Two Games Without a Win<\/h2>\n

Defeat Against the Latics<\/h3>\n

For the first time in seven league games, Oxford United lost a game.<\/p>\n

It was a frustrating evening as Wigan ran out 2-0 winners at the DW Stadium. The U’s were forced into shooting from range against a resilient defence, but a goal in each half sealed the win for the home side.<\/p>\n

The result left Liam Manning’s side four points behind league leaders Portsmouth, who picked up a point at Cambridge.<\/p>\n

McGuane on Oxford United Contract<\/h3>\n

Six Oxford players have signed new deals and Marcus McGuane is one of the U’s stars that fans want to see commit his future to the club.<\/p>\n

Ciaron Brown, Simon Eastwood, Elliott Moore, Stephan Negru and Gatlin O\u2019Donkor have all penned new long-term deals, while Alex Gorrin has also signed a contract until January.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Oxford Mail,<\/a> McGuane said: \u201cI love being here and I enjoy being here, and this is somewhere that I want to stay.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family are happy being here as well, so this is definitely somewhere that I want to stay and kick on, and get the club to where I think we should be.”<\/p>\n

Draw Against the Chairboys<\/h3>\n

For the first time this season, the U’s then saw themselves on a winless run after a 2-2 draw at home against Wycombe.<\/p>\n

Oxford took the lead through Ruben Rodrigues but a brace of penalties for the Chairboys gave the visitors the lead.<\/p>\n

However, the U’s would then equalise with a stoppage-time penalty themselves with Cameron Brannagan converting from 12 yards.<\/p>\n
