However, Crafton\u2019s article claims that sources have \u201crepeatedly\u201d informed them that senior figures, such as manager Erik ten Hag, would support Greenwood\u2019s return to the side.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Background to Man Utd&#8217;s Mason Greenwood Investigation<\/h3>\n<p>The 21-year-old is currently awaiting the results of an internal investigation into allegations of domestic and sexual abuse following his <a href=\"https:\/\/amp.theguardian.com\/uk-news\/2022\/feb\/02\/mason-greenwood-released-on-bail-after-arrest-over-allegation\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">arrest<\/a> in January 2022. The arrest was preceded by videos and images of an alleged sexual assault and domestic abuse were posted on social media.<\/p>\n<p>He was subsequently charged by police with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
