In his article, Ornstein stressed that the decision to join was still the player’s and sources have not yet reported that Kane is going to move to Bayern.

Other Sources Reporting

Another notable outlet reporting on this potentially huge transfer deal is The Daily Mail. Their article cites the total transfer cost as “close to £100 million.” If true, that would leave the deal, should Kane accept it, as no lower than the third most expensive British transfer of all time.

The article also restated that the decision was Kane’s to make. A big decision, should Kane leave his current club for the European powerhouse, the England captain could hand Bayern another piece they need to challenge Manchester City for the Champions League title and deprive Tottenham of their talisman who they have had for so many years.

Kane’s View of the Deal

There is no news yet on whether or not Kane will accept the deal, but Ornstein’s article in The Athletic has some useful insight into how the player wanted the deal to go down. He “wanted the situation resolved before Tottenham’s opening fixture…” The Spurs open their Premier League campaign on August 13th against Brentford.

That leaves little time for the Englishman to ponder his options. Ornstein further said that Kane is “enjoying life under new Spurs coach Ange Postecoglou and has been leaning towards staying.” Currently, though, it is unclear what Kane will do with this new development of the deal.

A major transfer in European football could soon be coming to fruition.
