Manchester United’s pursuit of a new centre forward has edged a step closer after Italian journalist, Alfredo Pedulla<\/a>, revealed an exciting update on one of the club’s summer targets Rasmus Hojlund.<\/p>\n

United Poised to Make Hojlund Bid<\/h3>\n

Erik ten Hag has been searching for a new striker all summer and the United hierarchy are now finally about to make an official bid for Atalanta’s Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund – according to Pedulla.<\/p>\n

The Italian journalist said: “Very soon, the Red Devils will get down to business.”<\/p>\n

He then went on to explain that the bid is expected to be an upfront cash payment of \u00a352 million and will include a series of bonuses. This, however, would appear to be short of the valuation Hojlund’s current boss, Gian Piero Gasperini<\/a>, has in mind. The Atalanta coach would prefer a fee in the region of between \u00a375 -\u00a385 million.<\/p>\n

Despite there being an apparent difference in valuation, Atalanta themselves are preparing for life without their Danish striker. Pedulla’s report goes on to suggest some potential replacements, with Almeria’s El Bilal Toure topping the Serie A club’s list.<\/p>\n

Gasperini seems to have come to terms with the fact that he will lose his star man and has met with the club’s hierarchy to discuss the matter, accepting that it will be almost “impossible” to keep hold of the Dane. The Italian coach has just asked that the issue be resolved by the end of July.
