According to Simon Stone<\/a>, Manchester United are looking to hijack Chelsea’s move for Moises Caicedo after becoming frustrated with the Blues’ insistence on their asking price for Mason Mount.<\/p>\n

Manchester United have grown frustrated in their pursuit of Mason Mount having seen a third bid of \u00a355 million rejected by Chelsea. Instead of becoming bogged down in negotiations over the Englishman, they have instead turned their attention to Brighton’s rising star Caicedo.<\/p>\n

The midfielder is coming off an extremely impressive campaign for the Seagulls and has been tipped to move away from the south coast club this summer.<\/p>\n

As reported by the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones<\/a>, Chelsea had a \u00a360 million bid for Caicedo rejected early this month, with Brighton valuing their 21-year-old Ecuadorian at \u00a380 million. It was expected that Chelsea would return with a new bid this week.<\/p>\n

Caicedo only registered one goal and one assist for Brighton last season, but he was instrumental in their climb up the Premier League.<\/p>\n

The “quick, combative”<\/a> midfielder ranked second for both interceptions and tackles this season and started 34 of 38 games, making him an invaluable component of the side.<\/p>\n

Erik ten Hag on Board With Decision to Switch Midfield Targets to Moises Caicedo<\/h3>\n

Mason Mount has been the number one target for Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag this summer, but the Dutchman is reportedly<\/a> on board with switching focus to Moises Caicedo.<\/p>\n

The two players are very different, but Caicedo has been asked to play as a number 6 and number 8 during his time at Brighton offering some versatility to United.<\/p>\n

It’s important to note that the Red Devils have left the offer of \u00a355 million on the table for Mount, and making their admiration for Chelsea target Caicedo public may force the hand of the West London club.<\/p>\n

Caicedo has previously stated that it is his “dream”<\/a> to move to United, giving fans of the Manchester side hope that this is a rumour that could go the distance.<\/p>\n
