The English midfielder quickly became a key figure in the squad, exhibiting exceptional work rate, technical ability, and tactical understanding. His versatility allows him to thrive in various positions, but he is particularly known as a playmaker who functions in the middle of the park.<\/p>\n

He became an integral part of the Chelsea side under Frank Lampard in the legendary midfielder’s first stint in the Stamford Bridge hotseat. Mount also has experience winning the Champions League having done so under Thomas Tuchel in 2021.<\/p>\n

A major issue that faced Erik ten Hag during his first season as Manchester United boss was a lack of depth in midfield.<\/p>\n

When Christian Eriksen picked up an injury in the early part of this year, United struggled to create anything through the middle, and this manifested itself in a downturn in form.<\/p>\n

Signing Mount, though, could provide Ten Hag with depth for, or even an upgrade on, his current creative midfield options, and with the Englishman only being 24 years of age, he still has plenty of time left at the top of the game.<\/p>\n
