Law adds that there is no potential for Spurs even entertaining the prospect of swapping the English defender for Harry Kane, who is reported<\/a> to be the Red Devils’ number one transfer target<\/a> in the summer. Instead, it’s stated that Spurs actually believe that signing Maguire could be a potential way for them to convince their captain to stay beyond the summer – which is because of Kane (who became Spurs’ all-time record top goal scorer<\/a> last season) having reportedly asked the club to sign Maguire in the past and that the pair share a close relationship with each other at the international level.<\/p>\n

It’s further added that Tottenham have not made any indication yet that they will even make a bid for Maguire, who was signed by United back in 2019 from Leicester City for a whopping \u00a380 million. Irrespective of that, they remain interested in the centre-back and it’s stated that the Lilywhites will start planning their summer recruitment after appointing a new sporting director.<\/p>\n

At this point, it’s still not assured whether Spurs will even push on to sign Maguire and take a step forward in their interest over him.
