Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani<\/a> has made a statement on the club’s relegation and his plans for the future. The Italian seems to indicate a commitment to remaining at the club, in staunch opposition to all recent reports suggesting otherwise.<\/p>\n

What Did the Statement Say?<\/h3>\n

Andrea Radrizzani’s statement is, first of all, highly apologetic. He discusses the way that the last few days have been “very difficult for everyone associated with Leeds United”, and discusses how the club is reflecting on the decisions that took the Whites to this point.<\/p>\n

There is some more solace later in the statement, however. The Italian notes that there is “still a lot of work to do”, specifically going on to talk about the appointments the club are due to make. Said appointments include a Director of Football and manager, at the very least.<\/p>\n

Why Do People Think Andrea Radrizzani is Leaving?<\/h3>\n

Fans and journalists around the world are expecting Andrea Radrizzani to leave the club relatively hastily, primarily because of his investment in Sampdoria. The Italian is leading a group of investors<\/a> to take over the club in his homeland, indicating a potential exit from the Yorkshire side as a result.<\/p>\n

The San Francisco 49ers’ investment arm also had a clause in place to buy the club<\/a> until recently, which expired on relegation. Talks are reportedly ongoing for a complete purchase of the Elland Road side, but this is somewhat in doubt following Radrizzani’s statement.<\/p>\n

What Leeds United Need to Do?<\/h3>\n

Leeds United have a lot of work to do before the EFL restarts in a couple of months. There are a lot of players expected to leave due to the drop in division, and the club is still without a permanent manager or Director of Football. It’s a comprehensive rebuild and the clock is ticking if the Whites want to immediately return to the league.<\/p>\n
