Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> could hire Thomas Tuchel to replace Antonio Conte as their new manager, claims ESPN journalist James Olley<\/a>. The Lilywhites are reportedly likely to make a decision to part ways with the Italian coach<\/a> later this week and replace him with someone else.<\/p>\n

What Tuchel Feel About Potentially Taking Over Tottenham<\/h3>\n

Tuchel was surprisingly sacked by Chelsea<\/a> last year after losing a Champions League game to Dinamo Zagreb. He was ultimately replaced by Graham Potter<\/a> and has not come back into football management as he waits for the perfect opportunity in his career.<\/p>\n

Olley adds that the German manager is interested in the Spurs job, after having admitted in a press conference a few years ago that he was a Tottenham supporter in his childhood. Here’s what Olley told ESPN about the situation: “I\u2019ve heard that Thomas Tuchel is a possibility. I remember how he did a press conference when he was Chelsea manager talking about how he was a Tottenham fan growing up. He loved the Premier League.<\/p>\n

“I think he would take that job if he was offered it. I suppose you can think about other things, Conte\u2019s 343 system to some extent built a squad around that. Tuchel likes to play with three at the back primarily, so there\u2019s kind of a logical fit there. He\u2019s good with the media. \u201cI could see Tuchel working for them, he\u2019s a big enough name with Champions League pedigree that Spurs would feel like they\u2019re getting a top manager.”<\/p>\n

Thomas Tuchel\u2019s Career Summed up So Far<\/h3>\n

Tuchel delved into the football management career at the age of 27 and worked his way into the German system. He worked under ex-Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick early in his career, helping in the development of youth footballers. In 2007, Tuchel got his first big break at Augsburg and then did some good work with Bundesliga side Augsburg. In 2015, he took over Borussia Dortmund.<\/p>\n

While not able to help them win the league title, Tuchel earned a bright reputation because of the impressive football played by Dortmund during his time. After a few years with them, he joined PSG in 2018 – helping them win two Ligue 1 titles and finishing as Champions League runners-up in the 2019\/20 season. After being fired by PSG in December 2020, Tuchel took over Chelsea a month later and helped them win the Champions League title in the 2020-21 season.<\/p>\n

The German gaffer also guided them to the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup titles, mostly using a 3-man backline formation. It’s his tactics and similar system to Conte’s that could make him a good fit at the club if Tottenham decided to replace the Italian coach – once hailed as a tactical genius – with Tuchel.<\/p>\n
