After being part of England’s U17 World Cup win in 2017, Callum Hudson-Odoi quickly climbed the ranks into Chelsea’s first-team squad. Maurizio Sarri gave him his senior debut in 2018 and it appeared that the young winger was due to be the next big thing for the Blues.<\/p>\n

However, he failed to adapt to the changes that occurred after Sarri left in 2018 and injury troubles didn’t help either. Thomas Tuchel often used him as a wing-back, which didn’t suit his natural playing style. After failing to adapt to Tuchel’s style, he was loaned to Bayer last summer in the hope to rediscover his form there.<\/p>\n

But the 22-year-old winger, once praised for being ‘technically gifted’<\/a>, has only scored one goal and registered one assist in 17 appearances for the German side.
