Some teams will be over the moon with their dealings, whereas others will feel disappointed. It is still early days up and down the Football League but some players haven’t hung about in making an impact for their new clubs. Here are some of the best deadline day deals from the Championship, League One and League Two.

The Best Deadline Day Business in the Football League

Tahith Chong to Birmingham City

Starting in the Championship and Tahith Chong has returned to St. Andrew’s. The Manchester United youngster was on loan with Birmingham City and after impressing in the early stages of that spell, they have snapped him up permanently. Birmingham are experiencing a rough patch but committing to Chong is an excellent piece of business for all parties.

Whether you think a player is good or bad, it’s always difficult seeing academy players leave after following them for years.

Best of luck to James Garner and Tahith Chong.

Once a red ❤️🇾🇪 pic.twitter.com/BcAor9NWk4

— Academy Arena (@academyarenaUTD) September 1, 2022

Clinton Mola to Blackburn Rovers

This transfer window for Blackburn Rovers hinged on the future of Ben Brereton Diaz. The Chilean forward from Stoke-on-Trent is one of the best that the EFL has to offer and so Rovers’ hanging on to him, for now, is crucial. Meanwhile England U21 midfielder Clinton Mola arrives from Stuttgart. Across two seasons, he made just four Bundesliga appearances and so could really do with kick-starting his career in England.

Callum Robinson to Cardiff City

Despite not quite cutting the grain in the Premier League, Callum Robinson is a very capable forward in the second tier. With Preston North End, the Republic of Ireland international hit double figures in the league twice but is yet to do so in a West Bromwich Albion shirt. Now, tasked with replacing the output of someone like Kieffer Moore at Cardiff City, he has a chance to return to form.

Dujon Sterling to Stoke City

Dujon Sterling:

"I'm trying to get back to my old me. He has experienced mixed success during these spells in the EFL, making only eight with Wigan Athletic but 38 with Coventry City. Stoke City have a new manager in the form of Alex Neil and so Sterling is coming on board at the right time.

Josh Coburn to Bristol Rovers

Dropping down to League One and to another loanee on the list. Josh Coburn scored four times in 18 Championship appearances last term for Middlesbrough and has now become a Bristol Rovers man. At just 19 years old, the tall forward will surely thrive under the stewardship of Joey Barton alongside the likes of Luke McCormick and Aaron Collins.

Admiral Muskwe to Fleetwood Town

🎥 "It's a bit bittersweet. The transfer to Luton Town then didn’t go exactly to plan as he failed to find the back of the net in his first year. The third tier of the Football League might be the one for him right now as he was on target on his Fleetwood Town debut, a 1-1 draw with his former employers, Wycombe.

Panutche Camara to Ipswich Town

The last of the three League One signings is surely the biggest. After excelling at the heart of the Plymouth Argyle midfield, it was hardly surprising when there were numerous suitors for Panutche Camara. He expressed in departing Home Park and on the final day of the window, Argyle accepted a bid of around £500,000 from Ipswich Town. It isn’t a jump in the leagues, which is the only eyebrow-raiser, but there is no doubt that Camara can further the Tractor Boy’s promotion ambitions.

Read More: Salford City Striker Announced by West Bromwich Albion

Dion Pereira to Bradford City

Joining MLS outfit Atlanta United from Watford isn’t a common career path. Dion Pereira has since signed for Luton Town though and is joining Bradford City on loan for the second time. The winger was only there for the second half of last season, but this time it’ll be a full campaign.

Matty Longstaff to Colchester United

what has actually happened to Matty Longstaff – I genuinely thought he was better than Sean when he first broke through #nufc https://t.co/giXyBSvmug

— Enyew Effsee (@EnyewEffseee) September 1, 2022

It wasn’t all that long ago that the Longstaff brothers were partnering each other in the middle of the park for Newcastle United. After this, it didn’t come as much of a shock when he played amazingly on loan with Mansfield Town last term. League Two still beckoned this time around though and so Colchester United have a real gem on their hands.

Luke Jephcott to Swindon Town

Finally, to another man departing Plymouth Argyle. Camara leaves on a high whereas Luke Jephcott has been struggling recently. Previously, he was the king of Home Park but as his goals dried up and then his minutes, he dropped down Steven Schumacher’s pecking order. A loan move to Swindon Town, dropping down a league in the EFL, will surely see him re-find his scoring touch.

The summer transfer window has been closed for almost a week now.
