The former Chelsea striker is now a free agent after terminating his contract<\/a> with Atletico Miniero. After a busy summer transfer window, Wolves could be back on the market after an unfortunate injury to new striker Kalajd\u017ei\u0107 during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Southampton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Austrian striker Kalajd\u017ei\u0107, who joined in a \u00a315 million move from Stuttgart, came off at half-time in his debut game after having pains in his knee. The club’s statement<\/a> now confirms that the scans on the player revealed an ACL injury and he is set to be out for a long time.<\/p>\n

The injury comes as a double blow to Wolves, who also have Mexican forward Raul Jimenez out with a groin injury<\/a>. Jimenez, who missed the first two games of the season, suffered a knee injury in pre-season and is “still building his resilience and his ability to recover quickly during periods of match congestion”.<\/p>\n

The club is now set to act fast and find a solution to the glaring lack of goal threat in their attacking ranks. A move for the lethal Diego Costa could prove to be pivotal in Wolves’ chances of getting a place in the European competitions and avoiding relapses due to the lack of a true striker in the team.<\/p>\n
