These clubs were also asked for additional financial information and will be monitored closely in the upcoming period to avoid further FFP breaches.<\/p>\n<h3>Warning Signs for Manchester City<\/h3>\n<p>The latest decision by UEFA will come as a warning to the Manchester City board. The English club were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/51510284\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">previously banned in 2020<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uefa.com\/uefachampionsleague\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Champions League <\/a> for two seasons by UEFA and fined \u00a325 million after they were found to have seriously misled European football\u2019s governing body and broken financial fair play rules.<\/p>\n<p>The severity of the ban from both of UEFA\u2019s elite club competitions and the scale of the fine reflects how seriously UEFA\u2019s FFP compliance bodies considered the club to have breached the rules and code of conduct.<\/p>\n<p>After an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jamesnalton\/2020\/07\/13\/cas-lift-man-city-uefa-champions-league-ban-following-ffp-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport<\/a>, the ban was overturned.
