Wesley Fofana’s long-awaited transfer to Chelsea<\/a> is set to be completed imminently, with the French defender scheduled to have a medical ahead of his move to London from Leicester City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Athletic’s<\/a> David Ornstein reports that Fofana will have his Blues medical in the USA and he flew out on Sunday morning after he missed the game between his current club and his future employers.<\/p>\n

Fofana wasn’t involved in Saturday’s match against the Blues at Stamford Bridge, and L’Equipe<\/a> has reported that the stopper will be checked over for any injuries ahead of his move being rubber-stamped.<\/p>\n

He has already agreed a six-year deal with the Blues and any remaining personal terms are not thought to be an issue, so the deal should be finalised swiftly upon the conclusion of the medical.<\/p>\n

Speaking after Leicester’s penalty shoot-out victory at Stockport County in the Carabao Cup, manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed the player was training with the club’s U23s after failing to turn up to a training session last week.<\/p>\n
