Delighted to sign a long-term contract with this special club. Thank you to my family for their support, without them this would never have been possible.

“Also, a big shoutout to the @neweraglobalsports team for help making this happen, especially to Jake, Chris and Rio.

“Time for a short break before going again and giving everything to keep pushing forward.”

Savage made his debut from the bench in December 2021, a 1-1 draw with Young Boys in the Champions League.

Bright Future

Savage, like his dad, is a midfielder. He has been capped by Wales at U18 and U19 levels. Savage has played over 50 games between U18 and U23 levels for Manchester United, scoring five and assisting nine. He turns 20 in May and might be in line for a loan spell in the near future.

He has already starred against senior opposition via the EFL Trophy – a competition that now allows Premier League’s top academies to take on tried and tested Football League sides.

In that competition last season, United beat Bradford City 3-0, lost 3-2 to Lincoln City and were beaten 2-1 by Sunderland. Unfortunately, unlike in previous attempts, United failed to make it out of the groups, however, Savage was one of only four players to start every game for the Red Devils – assisting in their final encounter v Sunderland.

Savage has been involved in first-team training at Carrington, a huge learning curve.

Always learning 😁 #mufc pic.twitter.com/vU7OLZyKD8

— Charlie Savage (@charliesavage84) May 17, 2022

Charlie Savage, son of Robbie, has signed a new long-term contract with Manchester United.
