The 2021\/22 Bundesliga campaign has reached its climax. Bayern Munich<\/a> were crowned champions for a tenth successive time in another season dominated by the Bavarians. Here is our Bundesliga season review:<\/p>\n

Bundesliga Season Review<\/h2>\n

Brilliant Bayern Continue to Dominate With Tenth Bundesliga Title<\/h3>\n

The Bundesliga was once again clinched by Bayern Munich with the Bavarians clinching a tenth consecutive title. The team oozes class and it was another top scorer accolade for Robert Lewandowski with 35 goals in 34 games.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Pole, who has declared his interest to leave<\/a> the club in the summer, also recorded the most shots on goal and the most efforts against the woodwork in the division.<\/p>\n

His Bayern teammate, Thomas Muller, picked up the most assists for a third time in four seasons with 18 in the league. The German, who signed a contract extension<\/a> earlier this season, remains a key part of Hansi Flick’s team.<\/p>\n

Champions League Qualification for Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig<\/h3>\n

Erling Haaland ended his Dortmund career with his sixth successful penalty in a 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin. The Norway international managed 22 goals in an injury-hit season ahead of his big-money move to Manchester City,<\/a> with BVB ending the campaign in second spot.<\/p>\n

Bayer Leverkusen secured Champions League football for the first time since 2018\/19 with a third-place finish. Gerardo Seoane’s side ended the campaign just five points short of Dortmund while RB Leipzig rounded off the top four with a draw on the final day against already relegated Arminia Bielefeld.<\/p>\n

Patrick Schick, Haaland and Christopher Nkuku all netted over 20 goals for their respective teams ahead of Champions League football next season.<\/p>\n

Europa League Qualification for Berlin’s Number One Club<\/h3>\n

Urs Fischer continues to overachieve with Union Berlin<\/a> and the Swiss manager has guided the K\u00f6penick club to a fifth-place finish.<\/p>\n

Last season<\/a>, Union ended the campaign in seventh spot, thus qualifying for the Europa Conference League, but they have gone above and beyond this year. Despite losing Marvin Friedrich and Max Kruse<\/a> in January, Die Eisernen<\/em> have enjoyed another stellar campaign, which also included a DFB-Pokal semi-final.<\/p>\n

Europe Beckons for Freiburg and K\u00f6ln<\/h3>\n

Freiburg go head to head against Leipzig in the Pokal final next week but a sixth-placed finish will also be something to shout about. They last finished in the same position in 2016\/17 but have seven more points on the board this year.<\/p>\n

K\u00f6ln will also have the chance to impress in the Europa Conference League. Die Gei\u00dfb\u00f6cke<\/em> finished 16th last season so it’s been a dramatic turnaround for them this year.<\/p>\n

Bundesliga Relegation for Greuther Furth and Armenia Bielefeld<\/h3>\n

Newly promoted Greuther Furth have made an immediate return to 2. Bundesliga after an underwhelming campaign. Kleebl\u00e4tter<\/em> managed just three wins all season and finish on 18 points, just two points better off than Schalke last year.<\/p>\n

Bielefeld avoided the drop in their first Bundesliga season last year but were unable to repeat that this time around, finishing in 17th spot.<\/p>\n

Hertha Berlin Face Relegation Playoff<\/h3>\n

Despite being one of the richest clubs in the division, it was another disaster campaign for Hertha Berlin. Their loss at Dortmund, along with Stuttgart scoring a 92nd-minute winner against K\u00f6ln, means the capital club will have to face a relegation playoff to seal their fate.<\/p>\n

Felix Magarth’s side lost 19 times in 34 games – the second most in the Bundesliga – and even lost the Berlin derby three times over the course of the season.<\/p>\n
