There could be as many as four new AC Milan signings this summer. This involves a new centre-back, midfielder, winger, and striker, according to CBS Sports Golazo and Fabrizio Romano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The popular name when it comes to a new centre-back is Sven Botman<\/a> from Lille. Romano mentions Renato Sanches as the top midfield target for Milan, while striker Divock Origi<\/a> has been the main name. For the time being, the names for the winger position are up in the air.<\/p>\n

Starting off with the centre-back position, Botman is an excellent player. He was instrumental in Lille’s Ligue 1-winning campaign last season, and of course, bringing them into the Champions League this season. Botman is 22-years-old, fitting Milan’s youth project well. At the moment, Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu start at centre-back for the club. They form a terrific duo, although help can certainly be added. Simon Kjaer is ageing and recovering from a major injury, while Alessio Romagnoli’s contract expires this summer.<\/p>\n

The midfield rotation in manager Stefano Pioli’s double-pivot consists of Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer, and Franck Kessie. Tonali is enjoying an excellent season and is surely a future star. Kessie, however, will be leaving for Barcelona<\/a>. This creates a hole in the rotation, allowing Sanches to step in, should Milan complete a deal.<\/p>\n

The left-wing position is set with Rafael Leao. Milan, however, have issues on the right wing. Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias aren’t necessarily unproductive, but Milan must upgrade the position should they hope to better compete in the Champions League.<\/p>\n

Finally, there’s the striker position. At the moment, Milan’s strikers are Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud. Their combined veteran presence is crucial to the team<\/a>, but age is also a factor. Ibrahimovic has spent a large portion of the season sidelined, leaving Giroud as the only option at times. Origi is 27-years-old and can inject some energy into the group. Although he’s not a starter for Liverpool<\/a>, he’s had a knack for timely goals in his career. Milan presents a better path to starting for the Belgian striker.<\/p>\n
