Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> have identified who they want to replace Antonio Conte if he is to leave North London this summer. According to Matt Law<\/a> of The Telegraph, they are looking at current Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter. Conte, who has been linked<\/a> recently with the Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> job, still has a year remaining on his contract but he has continually refused to commit his long-term future to the London club. The Italian will make his mind up at the end of the season and it is thought his decision will be based on whether his ambitions and owner Daniel Levy\u2019s ambitions are matched.<\/p>\n

Brighton manager Graham Potter will be one of the main men in contention to replace Antonio Conte should he leave North London this summer, and this is not an unfamiliar name for Tottenham fans after he was liked<\/a> with them last summer. Spurs will have to pay the Seagulls \u00a310 million in compensation to bring the Englishman in. Levy wanted Potter in the summer and was prepared to pay \u00a315 million to bring him in, but the 46-year-old wanted another year on the south coast. Brighton are currently ninth in the Premier League with Potter having cultivated a successful playing style at the Amex Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Right Man for the Job<\/h3>\n

Graham Potter is a highly intelligent man, with a degree in social sciences and a master\u2019s in leadership and emotional intelligence. Brighton have played attractive football over the past few seasons and punched above their weight under the English manager. This season the Seagulls have achieved a club record points tally in the Premier League and are on course to finish in the top half for the first time.<\/p>\n

When asked about his team\u2019s performance, Potter said: \u201cWe’ve had really good moments and then times when the margins haven’t gone our way and you have to suffer for a bit. It’s hard to say why it is. We haven’t had a stable season, we’ve had quite a challenging season, that’s what makes it even more satisfying that we’re in the situation we’re in now.”<\/p>\n
