News broke last week that Matt Judge<\/a>, Manchester United\u2019s main transfer negotiator and former executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward\u2019s right-hand man, will be leaving the club this summer. It immediately speculated rumours that the Red Devils could make a move for Paul Mitchell, Monaco\u2019s highly-rated sporting director. However, BBC Sport<\/a> report Manchester United have no immediate plans to appoint a like-for-like replacement for Matt Judge.<\/p>\n Matt Judge is serving his notice period but will not be involved with the transfers this summer, as he had been since 2014. Instead, current football director, John Murtough will take leadership on Manchester United\u2019s recruitment, assisted by technical director Darren Fletcher. It is going to be a busy summer at the Manchester club, with current interim manager and future consultant Ralf Rangnick saying<\/a> three of four players won’t be enough. Manchester United fans hope that new manager Erik ten Hag<\/a> will have a say on signings that suit his dynamic and offensive playing style.<\/p>\n Matt Judge has overseen transfers since the summer of 2014. During this time, Manchester United\u2019s transfer business has been awful. Overspending for underperforming talent has meant United have not won a trophy since 2017, and only three in total since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
