Bayern Munich<\/a> are keen to hold onto Thomas Muller, whose contract expires in June 2023, according to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m firmly convinced that M\u00fcller belongs to Bayern,” said club president Herbert Hainer. “I’m firmly convinced he will end his career here at Bayern.”<\/p>\n

This comes as no surprise, as Muller has been a part of the Bayern senior squad since 2008. In addition, the club is potentially in danger of losing<\/a> its top striking target. With that being said, Bayern remain committed to extending certain players as well as signing new players<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bayern Munich Keen on Keeping Thomas Muller<\/h2>\n

A Historic Club Career<\/h3>\n

Muller can retire at the end of the season and finish in the Bayern history books as one of the club’s top-ever players. That, of course, won’t happen just yet as Muller remains at the top of his game.<\/p>\n

Bayern are currently in first place in the Bundesliga. Muller is a major driving force in the attack, holding seven goals and 19 assists to his name in 28 matches. The assist number is mind-blowing. The club remains alive in the Champions League as well, although need to overturn a 1-0 deficit in the second leg of the quarter-final against Villareal. Muller holds four goals and three assists to his name in nine matches there.<\/p>\n

Muller was more of a goal scorer in the past but has truly transitioned into being a playmaker in recent years. Last season, he registered 21 assists in the Bundesliga. He did the same in 2019\/20 and had 12 assists in the league in 2018\/19. At 32-years-old, he remains in his current prime.<\/p>\n

The trophies speak for themselves as well. He’s already won ten Bundesliga titles, two Champions League titles, six German cups, seven German Super Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, and two FIFA Club World Cups.<\/p>\n

Muller has a rich history with the club and it’s clear why Bayern would like to keep it going.<\/p>\n
