Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled the club out of the Erling Haaland transfer saga<\/a> set to take place this summer due to the reported price tag being too high, Fabrizio Romano reports<\/a>. Romano goes on to state<\/a> that Liverpool have never been in the race to sign Haaland despite Klopp being an admirer of the 21-year-old as a player and the decision to not enter the race is purely down to Liverpool’s transfer strategy<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking to German football magazine Sport Bild<\/a>, the German manager said: \u201c<\/span>We will not be going near there. The figures being mentioned out there are crazy. We have nothing to do with them. No chance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Jurgen Klopp Says Liverpool Are Not Looking to Sign Erling Haaland<\/h2>\n

Erling Haaland Transfer Saga <\/b><\/h3>\n

The transfer saga for Erling Haaland is starting to heat up as the end of the domestic seasons across Europe draw to a close. The 21-year-old is one of the hottest names in world football as he has continued his fine form at Borussia Dortmund this season, with 23 goals in 24 appearances across all club competitions this season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been heavily linked recently and the market for the Norwegian seems to be heating up as the transfer window gets closer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With a reported release clause of around \u20ac75 million that becomes active when the transfer window comes around, the actual outlay is likely to be astronomical once agents\u2019 fees, wages and additional clauses are factored in.<\/span><\/p>\n

Should Liverpool Be In for Haaland?<\/h3>\n

With star forwards Mohammed Salah<\/a> and Sadio Mane<\/a> both out of contract in June 2023, nobody would hardly blame Liverpool for taking a look at other options should one, or even both, of those players choose not to return to Merseyside next summer. However, based on Klopp’s comments it does not look like Haaland will be one of those options.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The club already bolstered their attacking options when they splashed a reported \u00a349 million on Luis Diaz<\/a> in January and the winger has responded with some fine form. The former Porto man has scored three times in only eight starts since coming to the Premier League and looks to fit right into Klopp\u2019s intense pressing system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Liverpool are currently sitting in second place in the Premier League only one point behind reigning champions Manchester City.\u00a0 With only eight games remaining of the season, Klopp’s men have a real shot at regaining the Premier League title from The Merseyside club also find themselves in the last eight teams of the Champions League with their sights firmly set on repeating their 2018\/19 win.<\/span><\/p>\n
