The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath<\/a> has revealed the Manchester United<\/a> transfer budget as currently expected for 2022’s summer window.<\/p>\n

As usual, the figures are also reliant on the Red Devils’ involvement in the Champions League for 2022\/23.<\/p>\n

It is claimed that Manchester United’s transfer budget for what will be a crucial window this summer may be lower than expected.<\/p>\n

United are said to be looking at a spending fund of \u00a380 million, and that’s only if they qualify for Europe’s elite competition.<\/p>\n

Should they fail to qualify for the Champions League, the report suggests that figure will drop to as low as \u00a350 million.<\/p>\n

United spent close to \u00a380 million on Jadon Sancho alone last summer.<\/p>\n

Vital Summer<\/h3>\n

For a club like Manchester United, who haven’t tasted the success they’d like for some time now, every summer is labelled as the most crucial. However, this might just be the one.<\/p>\n

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked earlier in the season and United’s insistence that a stop-gap appointment in Ralf Rangnick<\/a> as interim manager was the way forward has only increased the pressure on them to appoint the right man for the permanent post next.<\/p>\n

But, convincing the best candidate may prove difficult if he doesn’t believe he has the funds to turn United’s fortunes around.<\/p>\n

\u00a380 million is a tough sell when you look at what United need. United have long needed a defensive midfielder, that has to be a priority – in a window where many positions may have to be prioritised.<\/p>\n

There are also the likes of Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba<\/a> running their contracts down.<\/p>\n

How More Funds Can Be Generated<\/h3>\n

The Telegraph’s report adds that Manchester United could spend more than the reported amounts – but they would need to sell players the new manager deems surplus to requirements.<\/p>\n

The likes of Donny van de Beek<\/a> and Anthony Martial, who are both currently out on loan, would be obvious contenders for that fate.<\/p>\n
