It was a disappointing week for Oxford United<\/a> as they suffered back to back defeats for the first time since early January.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday night, the U’s lost 2-0 at Accrington Stanley before twice blowing a lead against an in-form Bolton Wanderers side at Grenoble Road on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Oxford United Weekly Round-Up: League Losses Against Accrington and Bolton<\/h2>\n

U’s Lose at Accrington<\/h3>\n

Oxford’s week started badly as Karl Robinson’s side suffered a first defeat in five with a 2-0 loss on the road at Accrington Stanley.<\/p>\n

The U’s fell behind midway through the first half and struggled to get back into the game in the wet and windy conditions against their physical opponents, who doubled their lead in second-half stoppage time.<\/p>\n

The defeat was a sixth on the road this season and a third from their last five away days.<\/p>\n

Second Defeat of the Week Against Bolton<\/h3>\n

Oxford failed to bounce back from their loss at Accrington with a 3-2 defeat at home against Bolton Wanderers.<\/p>\n

The Trotters headed into the game with five wins from their last six games but fell behind to a stunning Billy Bodin free-kick. However, they levelled within 60 seconds of the goal.<\/p>\n

Bodin restored Oxford’s lead before the break but, once again, Bolton pulled the game level. In recent weeks, Oxford have scored late on to secure vital wins but the boot was on the other foot this time around as the Trotters netted the winner just four minutes from time.<\/p>\n

The result sees Oxford drop out of the playoffs to seventh place, where they have played more games than the sides around them.<\/p>\n

Karl Robinson ‘Furious’ With Oxford United Losing Gaol<\/h3>\n

Speaking after the game, U’s boss Karl Robinson was left frustrated at the way Bolton scored their decisive goal.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m furious, because it was from a corner and it wasn\u2019t anything we\u2019ve worked on,” he told the Oxford Mail.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cOur players recover into the wrong positions and we get hit by that ball, it\u2019s a fantastic pass by Gethin Jones and they take the opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was probably the only time they entered our box in the second half. I feel we had most of the game today.\u201d<\/p>\n
