Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano<\/a> reports Everton, who are reportedly close to announcing Frank Lampard as their new manager<\/a>, are looking to strike a deal for out of favour Manchester United<\/a> midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan before the January 31 transfer deadline.<\/p>\n

The Netherlands international midfielder has never settled at Old Trafford and struggled for game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and new interim boss Ralf Rangnick. With the 2022 World Cup taking place this winter, Van de Beek wants game time as he looks to secure his place for the most prestigious of football tournaments. When fellow countryman Marcel Brands was at Everton, he had identified the player as a top target in the summer of 2021 according to The Athletic<\/a>, but couldn’t get a deal done and Brands has since left Goodison Park.<\/p>\n

Crystal Palace<\/h3>\n

Crystal Palace<\/a> are believed to be close to a loan deal for Van de Beek with Patrick Vieira feeling progress had been made but now Everton\u2019s interest will have the Eagles on edge to see if the talks they have held will still convince him to move to London or if Everton will have enough to change his mind.<\/p>\n

Palace were not looking at making wholesale changes in the January window due to strengthening in the summer under Vieira\u2019s arrival but when the 24-year-old came up as an option the club moved quicker than others to begin negotiating a loan deal.<\/p>\n

Regular First Team Football<\/h3>\n

For van de Beek, the main thing is to get the first-team football he craves following his 2020 move to Old Trafford for \u00a340 million turning into a nightmare. Van de Beek\u2019s partner, Estelle, is the daughter of Arsenal<\/a> legend Dennis Bergkamp and it was he who first alerted former team-mate Vieira to the player\u2019s desire to move on in this transfer window.<\/p>\n

Fabrizio Romano also reports that Valencia are out of the race to sign Van de Beek and pursuing other targets.<\/p>\n

It looks likely he will move on but to which Premier League club remains to be seen.<\/p>\n
