As we enter the final week of the January transfer window, Arsenal<\/a> news is only going to increase, for worse or for better. And in the case of Du\u0161an Vlahovi\u0107, it\u2019s for worse. According to David Ornstein of The Athletic,<\/a> a deal for the Fiorentina<\/a> man is doubtful, with other options now considered. Among those options is Alexander Isak. The Real Sociedad<\/a> man has impressed in Spain over the years, and could emerge at the forefront of the Gunners\u2019 search for a forward.<\/p>\n

Vlahovic the Best Option, but Isak Not a Bad Alternative<\/h3>\n

In an ideal world for Arsenal fans, Du\u0161an Vlahovi\u0107\u00a0is holding up a red shirt on the red carpet of The Emirates Stadium. We are not, however, in some alternative, ideal reality. Instead, we are in a world where the aforementioned scenario is unlikely to happen as of right now. The current reality isn\u2019t so bad, though.<\/p>\n

Replacing Vlahovic on the red carpet could be Alexander Isak. The 22-year-old is overdue a move to the top. In Spain, he has reached new level after new level. And, although the current La Liga campaign hasn\u2019t been his best – just the four goals – he has proven in previous seasons just what he is capable of.<\/p>\n

Last season, for example, the Swede netted 17 goals in 34 La Liga appearances. Naturally, too, albeit in a more difficult league, that number should be replicated with the creativity around him should he make the move to Arsenal.<\/p>\n

All of a sudden, he would be back alongside former Sociedad teammate Martin Odegaard. When the duo were together in the 19\/20 season, Isak scored nine league goals. Now two years on and even more improved, the combination of the two players could take Arsenal to the next level. Of course, a deal is still a long way off, but a move for Isak should be a mouthwatering prospect for Arsenal fans.<\/p>\n

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Saudi Move Unlikely<\/h3>\n

Also reported by Ornstein<\/a> is the news that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is unlikely to make a move to Saudi Arabia, instead opting for a move in Europe if he decides to leave Arsenal. The forward is reportedly unlikely to link-up with the squad in Dubai, leaving his future in London increasingly unlikely.<\/p>\n
